The Way to a Useful Life

Motivated by a desire to have a better life, we as individuals and societies try many things and end up achieving the opposite. We get drunk to be happy and end up with a hangover, regretting what we said and did. We make war to solve a problem and leave the world no different or worse than it was. We yearn for ease and comfort and destroy the very foundations of our existence.

Yet all these misguided efforts are motivated by a jewel in the core of our being – Compassion. What most of think of as compassion is but a small part of its full potential. Like many treasures, it is for the most part hidden. In this talk/class/weekend Rinpoche will explore with us how vast Compassion is, how to develop it and open up the way for all of us to lead truly useful lives.
