Teachings with Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche
The writings of the great 8th. Century Indian Buddhist master Shantideva, considered vital and important in his own time, are as fresh and as relevant (if not more so) in today’s fast paced society. Though we all want to pursue happiness, the way we are doing it is resulting in quite the opposite, with personal plagues of anger and depression and global difficulties with resources and the environment.
In his poetic teaching “A Guide to the Way of Life of the Bodhisattva” – Dedication , Shantideva writes with great clarity and beauty of the correct and effective way to put an end to the causes of sorrow and to live a fulfilling and happy life. Restating the essence of these teachings recently, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said that what we do to benefit others, benefits ourselves and what harms others, harms ourselves.
Amnyi Trulchung Rinpoche will lead us in a fascinating and engaging study of this final part of Shantideva’s famous poem. Although these classes conclude a longer study, they are complete in themselves.
All are welcome.
